Together with a colleague, I have just paid my third visit to The Grand Hotel Royal from 3rd till 6th May.
Everything about our stay was first class,from the wonderfully comfortable room to the excellence of all of the staff that we met.
We were particularly impressed by the quality of the food and service in the restaurant where we ate each evening. The meals were superbly prepared and presented, and all of the staff both cheerful and attentive. We watched in admiration as Domenico and Giovanni managed each busy evening with great skill and good humour. Nothing was too much trouble and they are both a great asset to your organisation.
Would you please pass on our grateful thanks to everyone who made our stay so comfortable and enjoyable.
We certainly plan to return and will have no hesitation in recommending the Hotel to others.

We stayed in a superior room which was on the side of the hotel so had a partial sea view. The room was gorgeous, clean and tidy and nicely furnished. I would say the hotel was of a 4 star standard, the pool was nice to swim in and the staff were friendly. We didn’t have a evening meal but breakfast was great with a good choice to choose from. The Hotel was in a good location, kind of at the end of the main strip and about 200 meters from the train/bus station if you fancy going to Pompeii or Positano (buy a guide book to Pompeii if you go as the place is like a city!!) we got a bus to Positano and a taxi back (about €60 for 4 of us). The hotel was about a 20 min walk from the Harbour where you can get a ferry to Capri and other places, Positano etc.

We were travelling for one month in Italy and your city was to be our time for relaxing after touring around the cities! and the Royal were just right for this. We had a room with a terrace and a beautiful view facing the Bay of Naples. The room has inlaid wood furniture and nice floor tiles, which we believe are locally made. The common areas of the hotel are really nice and well kept, and the location couldn't be better. The breakfast room is very impressive and the breakfast itself was the best we had of all the hotels we stayed in. We were really impressed with the city, it's clean, has stunning scenery and is close to Pompeii, Capri, Positano and Amalfi.

We stayed at the hotel for a week in July and were met with a warm welcome from the start. We had excellent service from everyone and all the staff were friendly and made us feel at home. The breakfast and evening dinner was 5 star and the menu choices exceptional. The Gran Buffet served on the terrace was fantastic and provided a romantic setting to watch the sun go down.
Our sea view room was a delight with views across the bay to Vesuvius. The hotel offers evening entertainment and we were very impressed with the standard of the performers. The lounge areas were of a very high standard and outside multiple choices of either sunshine or shade to either relax by the pool or sit soaking in the views of boating activity at the harbour. We will definitely return to Sorrento and the Hotel Royal will be our first choice.
